What We Do Design Process

We understand that committing to a new kitchen is a big decision, so we want to make sure that you understand every step of the kitchen design process. We’re aware that in many cases, this process can be daunting and confusing, and we’re committed to making the process as upfront and enjoyable as possible. We want to assure you that we’ll take the time to listen to your needs and discuss every detail of your kitchen design so that we can implement every aspect that is important to you.

Initial Consultation
If you’re interested in working with us to create your dream kitchen, the first thing you’ll need to do is get in touch with us for an initial conversation about your kitchen design project. One of our talented and friendly designers will speak with you, ask questions about what you’re looking for and what initial ideas you have for your overall kitchen design. In some instances, you may have proposed building plans which we can certainly work from. We’ll offer expert advice about every aspect of your project and identify the best way to start the process. Our goal is to create a project you can fall in love with, and after this initial conversation, we’ll be able to give you a better idea of what your project will look like and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions you might have about the entire process.

The Survey
Once you’re sure you’re ready to move forward with your Kensington Scott kitchen design, the next and most accurate step of the design process is to get a member of our survey team to visit your property. Our team has specialist knowledge and will take precise measurements of your kitchen to ensure what we create for you is a perfect fit. The survey team will be able to see the bigger picture of your project, taking into account all the details like any design challenges, fuse boards, boilers and other elements that can sometimes be overlooked.

Designer Call
After we’ve taken accurate measurements and notes, our survey team will relay all details to a member of the design team. You will then receive a call within 24 hours from your designated designer, introducing themselves and their initial thoughts on the project. Your designer will discuss their ideas on the project and run through dates where you can visit the showroom to see your kitchen design for the first time!

Detailed Design Meeting
During your design meeting, one of our designers will walk you through every step of their design in great detail, explaining the logic behind the design. They will talk you through both the aesthetic features and the functional ones, and explain how your kitchen has been ergonomically designed to ensure the space will fit perfectly with your lifestyle. Your designer will also discuss all appliances, taps, sinks, fixtures and worktops that are included in the design, allowing you the opportunity to make any changes as you see fit. We’ll take the time to really understand your space and offer advice on the best ways to use that space to its maximum ability.

During the meeting, you’ll also have the opportunity to speak to a member of our technical team who can answer any questions you might have about the project overall and any logistics that will need to be worked out. You’ll also receive a detailed and clearly laid out quote for the project, including all appliances, worktops, cabinets, and every other aspect of the project.

Your quote will broken down into sections so you can see exactly how much each element of the project will cost. It is our passionate ethos that we always be precise about all costs, reflecting any changes you ask for. This means that the quote you sign will be the final price of the project, meaning there are no nasty surprises at the end. We understand that coming in at budget is very important to our customers, whether you’re planning a luxurious or more modest project. All suggested changes as a result of this meeting will be noted, and we’re happy to meet with you as often as necessary to make sure the changes are implemented seamlessly in the new design.

Project Management
There will be a lot to do before your new kitchen arrives, so you may want to take advantage of our project management services. We’ll coordinate everything for you using our network of trusted tradesmen and craftsmen, so whether you need a contractor, electrician, plumber, floor-layer or anything else, we can manage the entire process for you. This will make the entire project a whole lot easier for you, because you won’t need to worry about sourcing your own tradesmen and can leave the work to us.

Delivery & Installation of Your Kitchen
When your made-to-measure kitchen is complete, we’ll deliver it to your home and begin with the installation. If you’ve opted for our project management services, we’ll oversee every aspect of your kitchen overhaul, from painting the ceiling to laying the floors. We also work to make sure that your kitchen installation causes you as little disruption as possible by completing your installation quickly and efficiently without sacrificing on quality.

We’ll pay attention to every detail when installing your new kitchen, ensuring it is installed in such a way that it looks like it has always been there. Your designer will also be available at every step to ensure the kitchen design you envisioned translates through to installation.

The Final Details
Once your kitchen is installed, we’ll go through every detail with you to make sure that you are completely satisfied with every element of your new kitchen. We want you to be left with nothing short of your dream kitchen, so this is your chance to let us know if there is anything you are not 100% satisfied with - and if there is, we’ll be more than happy to set it right. Don’t forget - all of our kitchens are guaranteed for 10 years (the Trend range is guaranteed for 5 years) so you’re protected even after installation is complete.
